![]() A new ten hour program will air on The History Channel on the four Sundays prior to Easter, beginning March 3, 2013 and will conclude on Easter Sunday, March 31. You will love the passion and enthusiasm that Mark Burnett (producer of Survivor and Celebrity Apprentice) and Roma Downey bring to this new series. Roma plays Mary as the mother of an adult Jesus. If you don't recognize the name, she is the Irish lass who played an angel in the old TV series "Touched By An Angel." Rather than a word-for-word documentary, this project uses drama and history in a way that captures the essence of the gospel and the biblical story. The sound track is beautiful and masterfully sets the stage for "the greatest story ever told." If you would like to get a taste of this new series you can go to community. focusonthefamily.com for a couple of previews. Jim Daly, of Focus on the Family says, "I'm convinced that The Bible represents a unique opportunity to convey God's redemptive message to a broad audience--many of whom may be unfamiliar with the narrative of Scripture. My prayer is that many lives will be impacted not only by the beauty and quality of the production, but by the Truth that lies at the center of the story." I don't know about you but I usually stay away from all these Easter and Christmas "specials" that cable TV dishes out. They almost always portray more doubt than faith and more fancy than fact. Instead of inspiring faith they usually end up trashing it. But from what the folk at "Focus" tell us this should be a must-see. Tell your friends to watch it too, especially those who may be borderline doubters.
