In Memory Of:

Nola Griffith
JULY 27, 1921 – DECEMBER 28, 2022
**Corrected**

Picture

Clara Enola Ruth [Nola] was born July 27,1921 in Indianapolis, IN, to John and Clara (Freels) Totton. She was the 5th-born of 7 children.
At age 20, Nola married a young man from Wilbur, IN--Floyd Freddie Griffith. To the couple were born two daughters–Mary Ellen and Margaret Anne. Because World War II was raging, Freddie soon joined the military. Through the influence of a chaplain, he became a Christian; and upon his return home, he moved the family to Kentucky to attend college in order to become a preacher.

So Nola became a preacher’s wife, and later earned her high school GED and a nursing degree. In the churches they served, she was active in women’s ministry, Christian youth camp, youth training, and music. Together they served 11 churches in 6 states.

Nola went home to Jesus on December 28, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, all her siblings, her husband, and a great-grandson.

She is survived by both children and their spouses (Norman Dungan and Charles Kerr), 5 grandchildren–Heather Dungan (Charre) and Nathan Dungan, and Freddie, Mike, and Sherri Kerr (Owens)–as well as 11 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren, and many friends and loved ones across the country.

Nola’s ashes were buried beside the body of her husband of 62 years, in the Veterans Cemetery in Anthem, AZ.
